Description

The New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NYSPCC) is currently accepting applications for a full–time Research Associate (RA) for the Department of Research and Evaluation. The RA will assist in executing department related assignments in program areas including Trauma Recovery, Therapeutic Supervised Visitation, and child sexual abuse prevention education. 


The RA will be responsible for:


·        Regularly generating reports to funding agencies, including compiling program data and tracking all report

dates.

·        Maintaining inter-departmental databases, and monitoring ongoing data collection, entry, and storage methods.

·        Researching grant funding opportunities and preparing literature reviews.

·        Functioning as a liaison between the Clinical and Research departments and troubleshooting needs and

issues that arise.

·        Assisting with ongoing research projects.


The ideal candidate must:


·        Be a strong writer, with state, local and/or federal grant writing experience.

·        Have experience in designing quantitative and/or qualitative research studies.

·        Demonstrate knowledge and ability using statistical software, including ACCESS, SPSS and SPSS scripts, or

comparable statistical programming.

·        Be detail oriented, able to work independently on assigned tasks, and contribute to regular program evaluation.


A Master’s Degree in social or applied sciences, or Master of Public Health (epidemiology or biostatistics preferred) and experience in data analysis and management required. Candidates should possess a dedicated interest in child welfare, abuse prevention, and family policy issues.
