Physical Education Teacher

Part-time

Greene Hill School is seeking a Physical Education teacher for the 2021-22 school year.  Our program incorporates community-building games, sports skills, team sports, and running.  The program supports body awareness, gross motor development, physical coordination, conflict resolution skills, sportsmanship, and overall strength, fitness, and endurance.  The ideal candidate must enjoy collaborating with other teachers to make connections across the curriculum.  S/he must be an organized, creative, energetic, and compassionate teacher who is comfortable incorporating conflict resolution skills into the program and helping all students develop a joyful relationship to physical education.  

Experience teaching sports, collaborative games and/or dance is required and elementary and/or middle school teaching experience is appreciated.  Depending on the candidate’s experience, the position may also include teaching after school sports and/or middle school athletic coaching.    

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching students grades 3 - 8 in Physical Education classes 
  • Helping to build the sports program at Greene Hill 

Requirements:

  • Teaching experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively and with enthusiasm
  • Comfort with a variety of sports

This position is part-time, approximately 20 hours a week. Depending on an individual’s interest and experience, the position can build to include more time per week or can be combined with another part-time position.
