    Organization: Certified Financial Planner Board (CFP Board)

    Position: Director, Development

    Location: Washington, DC/Hybrid

    Reports to: Chief Program Officer

    Are you a nonprofit fundraising leader with extensive experience in major individual gift fundraising and developing donor relationships?

    CFP Board is seeking a Director of Development to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive fundraising program. This is an exciting opportunity to develop strategy and execute comprehensive fundraising plans for a mission-driven organization!

    As the Director of Development, you will oversee a fundraising program that includes individual and corporate giving, planned giving, and special events. In close collaboration with the corporate growth, program development, workforce, finance, and marketing and communications teams, you will provide leadership and management to achieve annual fundraising goals aligned with the strategic plan and programmatic priorities. You will also be responsible for building and managing the operations to ensure all aspects of fundraising are accurate, effective, and ensure a positive donor experience. This position works on programs which are part of the 501 (c)(3). This position reports to the Chief Program Officer and supervises two team members.

    Qualified candidates offer:

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • 10 years of successful fundraising experience, meeting or exceeding annual goals, preferably in a foundation, nonprofit, or profession-based association
    • Experience in strategic planning, annual goal setting, development, and implementation of effective fundraising programs and events
    • Successful track record of developing, expanding, and cultivating donor relationships
    • Experience with planned giving fundraising strategies and programs
    • Knowledge of ethical practices and federal and state laws and regulations for fundraising activities by IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations
