The 1,000 Dreams Fund (1DF), a 501 (c)(3), is dedicated to empowering young women in the U.S., seeks a Freelance Community Manager with social media and marketing experience to oversee our growing editorial brand and community. If you have experience growing communities and are passionate about helping young women reach their professional dreams, we want you.
This position is great for those looking to take ownership of our social media platforms, work closely with our student ambassadors and help grow our audience. This position reports to our VP of Marketing & Growth & CEO. This is a REMOTE contract position for 10 hours/week.
-At least 3-5 years of social media experience (preferably agency experience and working with clients. Marketing or Journalism degree will be helpful)
-Experience and interest working with a Gen Z/millennial-driven or college brand
-Editing experience for an online publication or e-commerce blog is helpful (Basic WordPress knowledge required)
-Basic graphic design skills (resizing images, create image collages, etc.)
-Comfortable with MailChimp to send newsletters
-Passionate about Gen Z/millennial women’s lifestyle including: academics, scholarships, career and pop culture and current trends.
-Expert knowledge of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with a passion for new and niche social media platforms (e.g. Snapchat, LinkedIn, Instagram Stories)
-Interest in promoting a non-profit mission; understanding of our social good ethos and brand “voice”
-Develop and maintain a content calendar across all channels, including 1DF blog
-Actively manage social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn), including real-time engagement
-Develop & manage promotions and report findings using social monitoring tools
-Deliver Monthly Reports highlights social media progress
-Conduct proactive outreach to like-minded student and university organizations to grow our 1DF membership network
-Help oversee student ambassador program; being able to speak to young women and get them excited about what we’re doing on and offline.
-Assist with overall growth of 1,000 Dreams Fund student network
