JOB DESCRIPTION

The Immigration Partnership and Coalition Fund (IMPAC) and the American Business Immigration Coalition (IMPAC/ABIC) seek to hire a qualified and experienced individual as a full-time Central Florida Business Manager in Tampa or Orlando, Florida. ABIC is a fast growing National Organization and staff will be working closely with teams across the country to promote its mission.


The Central Florida Business Manager will report to the IMPAC/ABIC State Director and will work directly with IMPAC/ABIC staff and its consultants to focus primarily on building business support for immigrants in Central Florida and sensible immigration solutions in Florida and at the federal level. 

 

To succeed in this position, the individual must be able to manage expectations and meet deadlines, organize and present information, pay attention to detail, maintain confidentiality, demonstrate honesty and trustworthiness and make a solid, positive impact. The new hire must be self-motivated, responsible, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

 

The Central Florida Coalition Manager will become a critical and valued part of our mission to protect immigrants in Florida and build a vibrant single-issue, non-partisan, pro-immigration business coalition.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a public-facing leader for IMPAC/ABIC’s work in Central Florida,
  • Advocate for small businesses,
  • Understand and advocate for the labor needs of businesses and the importance of high and low skilled immigrant workers in the economy,
  • Build relationships with key business leaders and organizations, recruit CEOs of major corporations to publicly support common-sense immigration solutions, manage business and CEO engagement, coalition organizing, and other in-state outreach on behalf of IMPAC/ABIC,
  • Communicate and find common ground with conservative and moderate elected and business leaders.
  • Coordinate ongoing engagement for business leaders and coalition members on issues of immigration fairness, including facilitating op-eds, public letters, and coalition calls, meetings, and press events,
  • Drive a strategic, winning and non-partisan membership growth strategy,
  • Engage with major donors, corporate partners, and others to drive coalition fundraising,
  • Work with communications consultants to direct engagement and relationships with the media,
  • Partner effectively with IMPAC/ABIC allies.


 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Comfort and ease advocating for undocumented immigrants, Dreamers and their parents. 
  • 3 to 5 years of direct experience in organizing or a related field such as political, grassroots, or fundraising activities,
  • Exceptional communication skills (interpersonal, written, and verbal),
  • Satisfaction of thorough background check,
  • Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite, and
  • Spanish language proficiency preferred but not required.

Compensation: This position will be full-time. We offer a competitive compensation package. Please note all salaries are commensurate with experience. ABIC also provides an attractive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and standard holidays.
