About CUNY Office of K-16 Initiatives

The Office of K-16 Initiatives at The City University of New York (CUNY) creates groundbreaking pathways for young New Yorkers to envision and achieve success. Our goal is to help NYC public school students make a successful transition to college, careers, and life beyond.

About Lessons in Navigating College Transitions (LINCT)

Lessons in Navigating College Transitions (LINCT) is a college access program whose primary goal is to reduce traditional barriers to enrollment at CUNY. The program boasts an inventive curriculum for NYC public high school seniors who have not met traditional benchmarks for college readiness, yet are on-track to graduate. By delivering credit-bearing LINCT courses and providing intensive, cohort-based professional development and coaching to DOE teachers, LINCT strives to increase college readiness in this targeted population and reduce the need for remedial coursework in CUNY institutions. During the 2017-2018 school year, over 3,000 students in 80 high schools enrolled in one or more credit-bearing LINCT courses, and we will expand to 4,000 students in over 100 schools in fall 2018.
