The National Multiple Sclerosis Society mobilizes people and resources to drive research for a cure and to address the challenges of everyone affected by MS. Job Summary



·        Under direction of Digital Experience Lead, manage the evolution and optimization of the Society's digital fundraising experience, across web and mobile platforms.

·        Develop and direct governance of Society's online fundraising strategy, user experience (UX) and user interface/interaction (UI) standards, in coordination with other web standards.

·        Leverage qualitative (user feedback) and quantitative (digital analytics/user testing) techniques to measure performance and inform future optimization.

·        Provide staff leadership within online fundraising and close collaboration within/between teams to appropriately direct and coordinate efforts to ensure strategic alignment, effective cross-channel experiences, and expected results.

 

Responsibilities


Lead the evolution and optimization of the Society's online fundraising experience, across web and mobile platforms.

·        Play a strong leadership role on the cross-functional work team to develop master event experiences for Bike MS, Walk MS, Challenge Walk MS, DIY, Finish MS, and other leadership events. Identify business, functional requirements, prioritize features and enhancements for peer-to-peer online fundraising, and help manage scope, contracts and vendors.

·        Optimize online donation experience (forms, flow) for all donation types (events, general, honor/memorial, leadership gifts, etc).

·        Work with stakeholders to identify ongoing updates, prioritize work, and implement or oversee execution.

·        Stay abreast of peer-to-peer fundraising trends, the overall online fundraising tools landscape, and specific enhancements and capabilities of Society's chosen tools.

·        Ensure proper documentation and implementation of business and functional requirements, user guides, and training materials.

·        Educate and train the organization in alignment with strategy and guidelines.

·        Regularly review and enhance Society practices and policies in online fundraising.

Qualifications


Minimum Education:

·        Bachelor of Arts or Science

·        Some college and 5 to 7 years of related experience will be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree

 


Minimum Experience/Skills/Competencies:

·        7-10 years of progressive web experience that demonstrates innovative and results-oriented strategy and performance.

·        Excellent collaboration and written and oral communication skills

·        Must excel at working cross-functionally to prioritize and manage projects to managing through continuous improvement

·        Strong analytical, strategic decision making, time management, and project management.

·        Must be a self-starter who is a strong and collaborative leader to initiate and bring multiple projects to fruition, including the proven ability to work with external vendors and across an organization.

·        Must be a continual learner to stay abreast of changes in the digital space and online tools.

·        Peer-to-peer online fundraising experience and software management/use a plus.


Requirements/Other


Technical/Other:

·        Passion for driving leading-edge digital communications and fundraising innovation and learning is required.

·        Experience managing across full web development cycle, from discovery/requirements to planning, design, development, testing, and optimization

·        Possess strong understanding of user experience/digital strategy for large web sites

·        Understanding of enterprise-wide web content management and digital marketing processes, methodology, and applications, including planning, research, metrics, reporting, project management, and multi-system technical execution.

·        Experience with various content management systems and graphic production tools, and Google Analytics required. Blackbaud/Convio, Kentico CMS,

·        Commitment to the mission, vision, cultural values, and expectations of the National MS Society

·        This position will be required to drive/travel on Society business. Candidate must possess a valid driver's license, proof of insurance and reliable transportation. The Society does run motor vehicle checks for all positions which require driving and the applicant must meet the Society guidelines.

·        Availability to work occasional nights and weekends to support events, committee meetings, etc
