Preble Street Teen Services, offering low-barrier services to homeless youth under the age of 21 in its Teen Center, Joe Kreisler Teen Shelter and First Place Program, is currently seeking a Supervisor to provide leadership in casework and coverage activities during afternoon and evening hours at the Teen Center and the Joe Kreisler Teen Shelter.
This full-time, second-shift Supervisor position is responsible for providing leadership and supervision to second-shift and overnight-shift staff; managing and staffing the programs to ensure safety and accessibility; providing oversight, guidance and support for casework and related activities; and providing crisis intervention, support and program coverage as needed.
The preferred education and experience for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in social work with 3 years of relevant experience, including supervisory experience; however, candidates with any combination of experience and education likely to provide the knowledge, skills and abilities to be successful in the position will be considered.
Qualified candidates will also have knowledge of adolescent development, homelessness, substance use and substance use disorders, harm reduction, trauma-informed care, behavioral and mental health issues and illnesses, and community resources, as well as demonstrated skills in working with homeless and runaway youth, providing staff support and supervision, and in working collaboratively in a non-traditional, team environment.
In addition to the above requirements, to be eligible for employment with Teen Services, staff must be at least 21 years of age; undergo and pass a physical examination, which includes a test for TB; hold certification or become certified in First Aid (in-house training opportunities offered); provide proof of education (diploma or transcript); and clear several required background checks. Teen Services staff also must attend recurrent, regularly-scheduled trainings, which are provided in-house.

This position offers competitive pay at a rate of $17.97 per hour, which annualizes to $37,377.
