Position Purpose

The Business Analyst Residency Program provides an opportunity to learn more about the organization directly from the home office in Mattapoisett, MA. The Analyst positions are entry level and full time. Applicants should be mission-driven, eager to learn and flexible, and while an interest in finance and analytics is preferable, the program aims to teach enthusiastic and curious individuals about budgeting and revenue flow on our world-wide disaster relief programs.  

The Program lasts 18-24 months, during which time Analysts will be part of a team supporting the Finance Department of All Hands and Hearts, specifically with tracking, managing and analyzing program finances as well as using data to analyze a variety of business challenges and opportunities.

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports to Manager of Business Analysis
  • Roles reporting to position Finance Coordinators (matrix reporting structure with PDs)
  • Approximate number of reports 1 to 3

Essential Functions

  • Assist in cross-functional data driven projects and enabling organizational collaboration.
  • Maintain expense tracking procedures and train new staff on organizational spend policies.
  • Support Finance Coordinator on Programs to ensure timely payments and appropriate tracking of expenses.
  • Create and manage Program budgets and cash flow projections.
  • Reconcile cash accounts in the accounting database.
  • Assist with monthly revenue reconciliation and reporting.
  • We do not require our off-program staff members to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, but unvaccinated staff members are not permitted to travel to any of our program bases. Unvaccinated individuals may attend in person meetings, but must wear a face covering over their nose and mouth throughout.
  • Other duties as required. 

Financial Responsibilities 

  • Managing program budgets
  • Assisting in annual audit preparation

Position Requirements

  • Special Competencies/Certifications  Good written and oral communication skills and confident working with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. Applicant needs to be well organized and have a flexible approach to managing multiple tasks and prioritizing them appropriately. The individual is able to manage a large workload and perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work Environment/Conditions Based full-time in the AHAH main office (Mattapoisett, MA) with expected travel to program (Subject to change based on COVID precautions). Communal housing is provided for analysts (apartment located in New Bedford, MA).
