The Friendship House Operations Manager is responsible for the operations and administration of the Clothing Bank, and to ensure the Clothing Bank is staying true to the Friendship House mission: to unite people facing homelessness with loving, supportive communities they can call home.

The responsibilities of the Operations Manager include:

  • Warehouse Operations
  • Opening and closing of the facility, oversee incoming and outgoing clothing orders, ensure facility is well maintained, safe, and in compliance with codes and regulations, perform regular preventative maintenance and safety inspections of the warehouse and cargo van.
  • Staff Supervision / Human Relations
  • Participate in staff development activities, assist the Senior Warehouse Associates with overseeing of daily operations, meet regularly with Clothing Bank Director to review and resolve staffing, operations, and volunteer issues.
  • Volunteer Interactions
  • Work with FH Volunteer Coordinator and Clothing Bank Director to ensure successful volunteer opportunities and experiences, assist with donor, volunteer, and supporter appreciation efforts.
  • Administrative
  • Maintain Clothing Bank records, perform administrative duties necessary for operation of the Clothing Bank.

Required skills include:

  • Required
  • Physically able to lift and carry up to 50 lb. bags of clothing
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to drive a cargo van as needed
  • Supervisory experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strongly Desired
  • Warehouse management
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Of Significant Benefit
  • Previous experience in a nonprofit, human service, or social service setting 
  • Previous experience working with vulnerable populations such as those who are homeless, incarcerated, and / or recovering from substance abuse
