Description

The Grants Manager is responsible for generating grant funding to meet the overall Resource Development goal of over $7 million annually. Specifically, the Grants Manager coordinates and monitors efforts to secure private and public sector grant funding in order to address programmatic and agency funding needs for Solid Ground. The Grants Manager will also prepare and submit program and agency funding proposals, and will provide primary supervision for other Solid Ground grant writers.


Essential Responsibilities, Duties & Tasks

50% Manage the preparation and submission of grant proposals submitted for Solid Ground programs and services, specifically:

  • Coordinate and supervise submittal of over 100 funding proposals and reports annually to foundations and corporations as well as local, state and federal agencies.
  • Write and edit proposals as part of a grant writing team.
  • Coordinate agency-wide efforts to target, track and establish strong relationships with funding sources.
  • Coordinate complex multi-agency proposals with partnering agencies.


10%    Hire, train, supervise and evaluate other Resource Development grant writers and Government Contract Coordinator. Provide oversight and support in the preparation and submittal of all grant proposals. Manage contracted grant writers and insure they meet Solid Ground standards for external communication.


10%    Direct efforts to gather information on agency programs, community needs and public issues for use in grant proposals. Coordinate development and maintenance of funding source files, including up to date information on funding sources.


10%    Research new grant funding opportunities.


5%      Coordinate and communicate with Solid Ground Development Director, Department Directors, Resource Development Committee and other Board and staff regarding funding status and progress toward addressing agency and program funding needs.


5%     Coordinate staff in preparing for site visits and tours in support of funding requests.


5%      Participate in program, department and agency meetings and relevant trainings as required.


5%     Ensure grant data is entered into Raisers Edge database per data standards.
