  • Our Education & Career Services program imparts individual community members with the practical tools necessary to build secure and prosperous futures. 

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: 

This is a temporary, in-person customer service and administrative position reporting to the Patient Greeter Coordinator. This role will be assigned to NewYork-Presbyterian Ambulatory Care Network clinics in upper Manhattan to perform reception and light administrative services for patients. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Greet and direct patients and visitors (P&V) to the appropriate line for entry. 
  • Assist P&V to complete self-screening or complete screening with P&V, including asking P&V medical questions and taking temperatures. 
  • Miscellaneous office work (faxing, answer phones, filing, etc.).

EXPECTATIONS: 

  • As the first touchpoint for anyone entering NYP’s institutions, the greeter is expected to be welcoming and assist P&V in a respectful manner. 
  • Overall greeter hours are 7 am to 9 pm, 7 days per week. Individual greeters will have flexibility to develop a 35-hour schedule within these hours with a preference for weekend availability (work blocks should be at least 4 hours). 
  • The greeter will spend time standing and walking, particularly during peak hours (10:30 am to 2 pm). 
  • The greeter will not lift or carry anything or perform strenuous activities. 
  • Greeter must wear a mask. Additional PPE is not required but available upon request (face shield, yellow gown, gloves). 
  • Greeters must maintain strict confidentiality of P&V. 


QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Experience in customer service required; Training/certification plus experience preferred. 
  • High school diploma/equivalency required OR concurrent enrollment in NMIC’s high school equivalency program. 
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred. 
  • Drug test required.
