Associate Director, Institutional Giving

The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center is seeking an Associate Director of Institutional Giving. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Associate Director is an integral member of a six-person fundraising team and a creative force responsible for managing an institutional giving program that raises nearly $2 million annually. 

The position: 

Ø  Manages the writing, preparation, and timely submission of all grant applications, letters of inquiry, and reports to maximize the organization’s funding potential and remain in compliance with funder requirements;

Ø  Maintains close oversight of the grant schedule and forecast, leaving ample time for information seeking, resource gathering, and the review process;

Ø  Manages a portfolio of 30-40 institutional donors, including foundation, corporate, and government entities;

Ø  Works thoughtfully with each program and administrative department to gain a deep knowledge and understanding of program and operational plans, objectives, metrics/benchmarks, and outcomes to prepare compelling funding requests and reports;

Ø  Attends and helps staff concerts and events as needed.


Qualifications: 

We seek a highly organized, detail-oriented self-starter with exceptional writing ability, who has a minimum of five years of solid experience as a grant writer. Candidate should have a working knowledge of databases, be skilled in MS Office, and possess the ability to adapt to and work in a variety of online grant portals. Experience with Tessitura a plus. Love of the arts and classical music is desirable. Salary competitive; outstanding benefits.
