Specific Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Design and build website front end components (e.g., landing pages, campaign pages) in both WordPress and Squarespace
  • Manage and upload content to WordPress and Squarespace sites on the back end. This includes being cognizant of SEO and utilizing/optimizing our tag bank.  
  •   Monitor and evaluate the performance of WordPress and Squarespace sites.
  • Troubleshoot content issues and generate custom solutions (e.g., find the right plug-in, customize code, or implement new theme modification) when necessary.
  • Work with our Development Director and Blackbaud database staff to ensure proper data and fundraising form integrations.
  • Become an expert in the various NWHN style and process guides, incorporating crucial aspects of brand identity into all collateral created.
  • Conceptualize, design, and implement creative graphics and content, both print and digital, on time and within budget.
  • Develop and design layouts, inclusive of copy and images for digital ads, web pages, promotional materials, social media posts, posters, etc.
  • Coordinate with team members to confirm objectives and creative directions on all communications and graphic design projects in which you are involved.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to Communications Interns when these interns show an interest in graphic design/web development.
  • Help with video and audio editing (Zoom, Loom, HD Moviemaker Pro, YouTube, and Maestra are some of the software packages we use). 

Qualifications

  •    Demonstrated interest in women’s health
  • Working familiarity with: WordPress ~~~ Squarespace ~~~ Content Management Systems generally ~~~ Adobe InDesign or similar ~~~ Photoshop or similar ~~~ Illustrator or similar ~~~ Video Editing Software ~~~ HTML/CSS ~~~ UI/UX principles ~~~ Full Microsoft Office Suite ~~~ Full Google Suite  
  •     Comfort with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn)
  •   Familiarity with different design forms, functions, and rendering methods (examples include: illustration, digital artistry, animation, fine art, photography, typography and layouts, and interactive media)
  • Experience working on creative teams and fulfilling creative briefs
  • A creative thinker with a “sky’s the limit” attitude in the brainstorming phase
  • Comfort working to deadlines and managing competing priorities
  •  Must have a live online portfolio or fully produced samples of your work to share 

Location, Hours, & Compensation  

This is a full-time, fully remote, overtime exempt position. The Network offers 100% employer paid medical, dental, and vision, along with 403 (b) benefits, generous vacation, and sick time policies, and paid parental leave. Compensation is $48,000 annually.
