  • Continue to build an organizational culture of philanthropy partnerships

Maintain and expand the donor base:

  • Maintain TC’s existing donor base via regular meetings, phone calls, trips and other forms of engagement
  • Look for opportunities to expand the donor base

Stewardship and tracking:

  • Oversee grant tracking and reporting
  • Ensure TC stewards its donors and manages relationships with bequests/planned-giving donors

Soliciting gifts:

  • Solicit support for TC’s programs, including writing proposals
  • Partner with and coach TC leadership to also solicit support

Development-related opportunities:

  • Evaluate and hand off event opportunities for TC leadership
  • Proactively create event-related opportunities to accomplish development objectives

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of successful development/fundraising experience, including 2+ years leading a development function, participating in management teams and liaising with boards
  • Experience with the diverse components of comprehensive fundraising planning and implementation
  • A proven track record of qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, closing, and stewarding individual and foundation donors in the six+ figure range
  • Passion for and commitment to Tompkins Conservation’s mission
  • Professional, engaging, and articulate written and verbal communication
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Technologically proficient with Salesforce and other standard organizational programs (GSuite, Powerpoint, etc.)
  • Written and oral proficiency in Spanish
  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally up to 30-40%
