Coordinates and prepares all matters related to accounts payable for the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES), located within the Office of Global Learning Initiatives at FIU’s Modesto A. Maidique Campus. Continuously builds and conveys the value of CIES by maintaining and processing accurate financial records, corresponding with over 3,000 members, and producing financial reports upon request.

 

Ø Assists the CIES Finance Director in coordinating and preparing all matters related to accounts payable: obtaining approvals, coding, data entering into system for payment.

Ø Processes credit card transactions for customer payments and provides all receipts to the credit administrator.

Ø Reconciles credit card transactions to bank statements.

Ø Creates and processes draft invoices for approval.

Ø Pays bills and follows approval processes for accounts payable.

Ø Initiates and maintains professional email and phone correspondence with CIES membership regarding financial matters.

Ø Provides administrative and clerical services to ensure effective and efficient processing.

Ø Provides assistance, performs additional assignments or requests made by CIES Finance Director and Executive Director.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of office or related experience.


Desired Qualifications

Ø Experience with accounts payable/ accounts receivable

Ø Experience with accounting software, e.g. QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage Accounting

Ø Experience with Excel

Ø Strong organization skills

Ø Excellent time management and interpersonal skills

Ø Good communication skills

Ø Team player


Start Date

September 30 or as soon as possible thereafter.


Work Schedule

Ten hours per week until December 15. Twenty hours per week starting January 7, 2019.
