Early Childhood Special Education Teacher Needed in East Harlem

Would you like to teach in a warm and nurturing learning environment where teachers are supported and creativity is encouraged? If so, the Association to Benefit Children (ABC) is looking for a special education teacher to join the staff at the Graham School. Our Head Start Early Childhood Center in East Harlem is currently interviewing for a full time Special Education Teacher to head an integrated preschool classroom.
Maintain a developmentally appropriate environment for children enrolled at ABC schools.
Develop and implement curriculum including lesson plans.
Responsible for all necessary documentation and paperwork in the classroom and for CPSE meetings including IEP development and quarterly and annual reports.
Supervise all educational staff members in their classroom.
Position offers full health benefits, paid sick days, salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Hours are 8am to 4pm. Bilingual/Spanish a plus but not required.
Salary: Initial certification $51,425 Professional certification commences at $52,800
Candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and a current Dual New York State Teaching Certification in Early Childhood Education/Early Childhood Special Education (birth-2nd grade). Internship certificate holders are also encouraged to apply.
Level of Language Proficiency
Spanish preferred but not required.
