Description
Primary Duties:
Be a community organizer for SJPC & Help us build our base and our brand awareness
Go to events and represent SJPC
Focus on the Black Child Legacy Communities (BCLC) and serve as our BCLC liaison
Find events in Sacramento County and attend at least two events per month
If no events table at a BCLC Community Incubator Lead, or other location (i.e. park, organize Sac, or other business/org we have an agreement with)
Pitch SJPC, generate sign-ups to join SJPC, collect responses to our social justice report card survey, and recruit volunteers
Capture content and media assets to be shared and documented
Share captured content with SJPC team that is easy to utilize for social media
Work with the Program Manager to manage and expand SJPC’s contact list
Highlight key contacts exchanged at events with SJPC team that present an opportunity for partnership or high capacity volunteer engagement
Find partners within small businesses, other community-based organizations, community/neighborhood associations, etc.
Assist with volunteer coordination
Share creative ways to expand our base
Secondary Duties:
Assist in the organization of special events should hours and time permit
Assist with political education training should hours and time permit
Help contribute to the calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances, and other communication opportunities
Edit and support with proofing and enhancing slides, flyers, and materials
