Our programs equip individuals with solutions to life-changing legal issues and transform how the civil justice sector collaborates to tackle justice problems.

Position Description

We are seeking a Grants Manager to play an integral role in our organization’s efforts to expand grants funding sources and increase revenue. This person will work with the development team to develop and execute the organization’s fundraising strategy and maintain the organization’s portfolio of grants. Duties for the Grants Manager will include managing overall grant efforts, optimizing the grant administration process, researching potential grant funding partners, preparing proposals and reports, ensuring compliance with grant regulations, and managing grant records. The position will report to the Chief Development Officer and will contribute to the overall organization fundraising strategy.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Participate in Pro Bono Net’s efforts to raise funds through grants and direct contributions
  • Collaborate with program staff to develop content, prepare and submit grants and reports to funders and generate internal reports
  • Prospect Research: Identify and qualify corporate and foundation prospects. Conduct research on prospective funders manage, expand and grown prospect pipeline and manage the pipeline process
  • Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and report tracking
  • Process incoming grants, including acknowledgements and deliverables tracking
  • Develop communications and outreach to current and prospective grant funding partners, including drafting communications and timelines
  • Provide key support in preparation of reports and materials
  • Develop materials to support fundraising and public relations activities
  • Assist in regular data collection, analysis and presentation of program metrics
  • Work in collaboration with development team execute overall development and communication actives for the organization.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • 3-5 years of experience working with foundation and corporate funding, including grant writing, research and cultivation
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communications skills
  • Well-honed organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to organize and prioritize work and meet critical deadlines
  • Digitally-savvy with strong computer skills (Proficient with MS Word and Excel)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and committed to teamwork
  • Familiarity with donor database software (e.g. Bloomerang) is preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to Pro Bono Net’s mission and goals
  • Sense of humor
