Summary:


AppleTree Institute’s Instructional Quality (AIQ) team is currently seeking a talented and detail-oriented assessment specialist to join its implementation team. We need someone with experience implementing a structured assessment program, training others in child assessment and classroom observation, and supporting teachers and school leaders in adhering to assessment process and procedures. This team member will be instrumental in ensuring successful collection of student and teacher assessment data across AppleTree’s network. We’re looking for people who want to make a real impact in early childhood education. The Assessment Specialist will report directly to the Implementation Manager.


Roles and Responsibilities:


Student and teacher assessment implementation

  • Work closely with AIQ team and network partners to provide necessary support prior to, during, and after formal assessment and observation windows.
  • Work closely with the research and impact team to ensure assessment best practices are followed.
  • Create, lead and support professional development for student and teacher assessment practices as needed.
  • Train and maintain a team of external contractors to conduct live classroom quality observations. This includes maintaining contractor records and creating and processing invoices.
  • Support the tracking of student, teacher, and school-level demographic and consent data as needed.
  • Support the maintenance of data security and data integrity as needed.


Communication

  • Work closely with members of the AIQ team to ensure assessment implementation activities are carried out appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Communicate upcoming assessment activities to various stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field with an assessment focus.
  • Minimum of two years of experience with psychometric assessments.
  • Experience working in a school setting.
  • Highly detail-oriented and able to multitask .
  • Patience and the ability to communicate clearly to multiple audiences .
  • Highly collaborative work style.
  • Experience with observational measures of classroom quality.  Certification in the CLASS-PK is preferred.
  • Technological proficiency in GSuite, Asana, Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new technology platforms as required.
