Purpose Statement AGL/GL

The job of School Program Group Leader or Assistant Group Leader was established for the purpose/s of helping students develop and strengthen academic, physical, and social skills by helping and tutoring students in the after-school program.

Key Responsibilities

Assists students with homework assignments, make up work, etc.,

Assists with program components for the purpose of delivering services that conform to established guidelines.

Monitors individual students, classroom, library, recreational activities for the purpose of ensuring availability of items.

Includes homework assistance, recreational activities, leadership development, education, and career development

Assists group leaders in maintaining behavior standards for students.

Attends staff meetings and professional development training

Individual Responsibilities:

Arrive on time for work or contact the supervisor when delayed

Be reliable in attendance and give ample notice for absences

Come to work with a positive attitude

Approach criticism with a learning attitude

Good Role Model

Education & Experience

High School diploma or GED Required. Some college preferred

English Fluency is required, Spanish language skills preferred

One year of experience working with elementary grades students is preferred but not required.

Able to work independently and/or in a team

Good communication skills

Pay and Benefits

$16 -$20 per hour depending on experience and position

56 hours of paid sick leave per fiscal year

Job Type: Part-time

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week

Schedule: Monday to Friday 2-6pm
