JOB DESCRIPTION


Theater J, the nation’s largest and most prominent professional Jewish theater company, of the Edlavitch DC Jewish Community Center, seeks a Development Coordinator to be part of Theater J’s dynamic team to coordinate the fundraising efforts of the theater. 


The Development Coordinator is responsible for supporting all fundraising efforts for individual donors, planning and executing events, and writing and managing grants. Specific tasks include fostering relationships with individual donors through managing donor benefits, informal acknowledgments, and donor outreach; coordinating special and cultivation events; tracking and reporting on Theater J’s fundraising numbers; planning and executing annual fundraising campaigns; and providing administrative support for the Theater J Council. 


The Development Coordinator will report to Theater J’s Managing Director and will work closely with Theater J’s Artistic Director and the Development Office of the Edlavitch DCJCC. 


QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should have at least one year of experience in development or fundraising, preferably in a cultural institution. Experience with writing and managing grants and events management preferred. Must have familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets, and database management software, and the ability to work some nights and weekends.
