CLC is the largest children’s legal services organization in the nation, currently serving 30,000 clients in the Los Angeles, Sacramento, and Placer County child welfare systems.
CLC is seeking a Southern California Regional Director (SCRD). In collaboration with CLC’s Senior Leadership, the SCRD is responsible for the implementation and oversight of all aspects of high-quality legal and multidisciplinary representation in CLC’s Southern California practice. The SCRD will be the primary point of contact between CLC’s various administrative departments (Finance, HR, IT, and Operations) and the Southern California firms to develop and implement efficient and cohesive communication, compliance and problem-solving. Consistency of practice, adherence to internal protocols, and excellent communication amongst and between the five Southern Californian firms will drive the work of the SCRD. The SCRD will also play a leadership role in meeting the goals of CLC’s Strategic Plan, to reduce racial disproportionality and disparity in the child welfare system, reduce entries into the child welfare system and promote continuous quality improvement. This is a dynamic position for someone who enjoys and excels at multi-tasking, leadership, problem-solving, critical thinking, thoughtful legal analysis and working in a fast-paced environment.
The SCRD sits on the Executive Team and reports to the Executive Director. The SCRD will work closely with the Deputy Director, the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, the Northern California Regional Director, and various department heads to ensure consistency, efficiency, and adherence to best practice standards.
Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years of dependency legal experience, a Juris Doctor degree, and be a member in good standing of the State Bar of California. Management, supervisory and training experience preferred.
