About the position: First Book is applying technology and business approaches to the challenge of providing all children in the US and Canada with access to books. First Book currently serves more than 390,000 Title I schools, after-school initiatives, clinics, shelters, and a wide variety of other programs serving children in need. Though powerful, First Book is only reaching a small fraction of the approximately 2 million programs and Title I classrooms eligible for our help. We have exciting opportunities to use technology to serve more and more of these programs and are looking for a Business Systems Analyst to join our team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•  Working with First Book cross-functional teams; gather and document requirements, conduct process walk through meetings, perform gap analysis, and create final product requirements for assigned projects

•  Create technical use case documents to describe and articulate business requirements

•  Perform independent evaluation of the requirements to determine new build/modification decisions

•  Document, establish, and validate QA procedures and standards

•  Perform independent validation and verification of applications built using open source technologies, custom applications, or new module specifications

•  Work through unit testing to be sure additive technologies align with business requirements

Business Skill Set

•  Solid understanding of business analysis processes

•  Ability to comprehend data flow diagrams, use cases, and wireframes

•  Comprehensive skills in creating good architecture diagrams and flow diagrams

•  Exposure to Magento eCommerce product suite desirable

•  Exposure to Salesforce required

•  Willingness to work in a structured team environment

•  Excellent communicator and facilitator with proven writing skills

•  Accounting system integration experience
