This is an exciting opportunity to join Turnaround’s Marketing and Communications team at a pivotal moment. The Manager, Marketing and Communications is the second-in-command for Turnaround’s marketing and communications shop, a team whose success is absolutely critical to achieving the organization's goals. You will be a force multiplier for the Director, Marketing and Communications as we dive into interesting and impactful projects including redesigning our website, reimagining our core messages, building up the following for our podcast and productizing two decades of knowledge. The ideal candidate is a digital marketing and communications whiz with deep and broad skills, including writing and editing, graphic design, and digital production, married with knowledge of the national education landscape. You will be our online voice and a key content creator, telling our story and promoting our brand. You will also support Turnaround’s product delivery and fundraising needs and collaborate with mission-driven colleagues from across the organization and a growing landscape of coalitions and partnerships. The portfolio includes social media, website, blog, email, analytics, events, publications, product marketing and other related functions. You will have opportunities to work closely with the organization’s leadership, including our Founder, Pamela Cantor, M.D., and other national thought leaders.
What You Will Accomplish:
CREATE ENGAGING COMMUNICATIONS: Creatively promote the organization’s key priorities, products and services through the design and production of marketing content across channels, including: website; social media; presentations/events; blog; podcast; publications (e.g., white paper); partnerships; email marketing; ads; public relations; earned media; digital / print collateral; and promotional materials.
DRIVE DIGITAL: Serve as day-to-day lead to manage and maintain website, social media, blog and email marketing; organically expand and grow our community and following base; optimize website to market new products and disseminate new tools and resources. Manage library of digital assets and materials to ensure content is accessible, up to date and effectively showcases organizational priorities
TELL OUR STORY: Use writing, editing/proofing and digital storytelling skills to share clear and concise stories of Turnaround’s impact; develop a content calendar including a pipeline of planned future content. Use graphic design, photo and video production skills to develop compelling visual assets and strategies for social media, print collateral, program delivery, infographics, forms and document design. Ensure visual and editorial integrity of Turnaround’s brand in all public-facing communications. Engage deeply with colleagues in every department across the organization to learn about our work and share out successes;ensure messaging across the organization is on-brand, consistent and optimized by leveraging these connections
UNDERSTAND OUR IMPACT: Track, measure, analyze and report on data from our social media, website and digital products and campaigns; with the Director, integrate improvements and learnings. Monitor the media landscape for brand perceptions and related trends
DESIGN FOR THE FUTURE: Conduct market research and analysis to inform future marketing and productization work. Partner with the Director, Marketing and Communications on major deliverables, including project management and long-term strategic planning
