VISION RESOURCES OF CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA

Vision Resources of Central Pennsylvania (VROCP), headquartered in Harrisburg, PA, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization seeking to hire a full-time Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The new CEO will replace the outgoing incumbent who will be retiring. Founded more than 100 years ago, VROCP provides a variety of blindness prevention services along with employment opportunities to clients who are visually, physically and otherwise challenged. The goal is to empower clients to enrich their lives through programs which encourage and enhance individual independence. Areas served are Dauphin, Cumberland, Perry and Franklin counties.

VROCP, with a full-time / part-time mix of more than 100 employees and a $4.7M annual budget, operates with a unique business plan. Much of its revenue stream is generated by services (packaging, carpet installation, cleaning) which it sells to a variety of commercial customers to include the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Additional income is obtained from donations, fundraising events, and grants. Of particular significance, 90% of revenue received goes to supporting programs and services.

VROCP is looking for the right person to build on the organizational and programmatic foundations which have been established and take them to the next level. Reporting to the Board Chair, the new CEO’s top priorities will include strengthening and expanding VROCP’s identity throughout the four counties it serves, developing new sources of funding and B2B opportunities, and shaping the organization for the future.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) along with 7 years of high-level administrative / managerial experience. While experience in the nonprofit sector is preferred, public / private sector or corporate leadership experience is acceptable when combined with community involvement demonstrated by serving on boards, committees or task forces in significant leadership roles.

Other experience and competencies include: strong strategic planner and visionary; collaborative leadership; strong interpersonal, communications and listening skills; high levels of energy, creativity and initiative; business acumen; political savvy; advocacy; supervisory experience, and public speaking.
