Position Overview

CancerCare seeks a multimedia editor and producer to create audio and video materials to showcase the organization’s free programs and services and amplify client voices. This position’s primary focus will be the end-to-end production of Cancer Out Loud: The CancerCare Podcast. Reporting to the Director of Communications, the multimedia editor/producer will collaborate closely with Communications and Programs staff to create compelling and evergreen content related to oncology advocacy and the experiences of those affected by cancer.

 Requirements, Education and Skills

Minimum 3 years of audio and video production experience

Bachelor’s degree with background in social work, psychology, sociology or patient-facing health care delivery preferred

  •   Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite (Audition and Premiere)
  •   Strong editorial judgement and clear creative vision
  •   Proven project management experience
  •   Self-motivated and detail-oriented
  •   Familiarity with podcast production and distribution logistics
  •    Superb written communication skills
  •   Comfortable dealing with sensitive information and protected health information

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end production of internal and external audio (podcast) and video projects for multiple channels and audiences
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Programs staff and Communications team members to conceptualize multimedia content
  • Coordinate and assist with client research, outreach, scheduling and rescheduling
  • Record, edit and otherwise contribute to the development of podcast and video content
  • Perform audio engineering tasks such as tuning, mixing and leveling
  •  Transcribe, implement feedback and edit approved podcast show notes
  •  Create titles and descriptions for podcast episodes, in collaboration with Programs staff
  •  Schedule/publish episodes to various podcast platforms via Anchor (Spotify, iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, Apple Podcasts, etc.)
  •  Adapt and edit content for secondary channels/audiences (e.g. podcast content for social media)
  •  Oversee music licensing and stock footage licensing for audio and video projects
  •  Assist with management of client consent forms and other paperwork related to multimedia projects
  •  Assist in creating promotional materials as needed
