About the Position

As a member of MCAAD’s Marketing and Communications team, the Media Coordinator will coordinate and help execute our media strategy including virtual events, podcasts, webinars and other virtual convenings. This position reports into the Educational Programming department. The Media Coordinator plays a crucial role in the implementation of MCAAD’s overall strategic engagement of multiple target audiences through bringing fresh, timely, and fascinating content to people all over the world through multiple virtual channels.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Media Fellow with strategy and planning for all virtual events including podcasts, webinars and other virtual convenings   
  • Conduct research on potential podcast guests and webinar panel members and evaluate fit
  • Prepare briefing materials for hosts and panel leads
  • Draft intro and outro scripts for hosts for podcasts and webinars    
  • Schedule events and book guests, including serving as primary contact for MCAAD with guests.
  • Scheduling and booking duties include everything from initial outreach to scheduling each pre-recording, recording and post-recording contact
  • Main point of contact between MCAAD and Creative Services or other vendor production teams
  • Manage post-recording finalizing of transcripts
  • Managing post-production marketing efforts
  • Manage technology platform uploads and captions/graphics for all media pieces and for the MCAAD website
  • Keep relevant MCAAD staff updated and informed throughout the implementation of each podcast

Requirements:

  • Four-year college degree
  • Must have two to five years work experience in media specific field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Skilled at key office and creative technologies and platforms, including Outlook, Canva, Captivate, Sprout, Slack
  • Experience in the preparation and presentation of podcasts is preferred
  • Experience working with and utilizing multiple podcast channels such as Spotify and Apple Podcasts is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work through many communication vehicles (email, voice mail, Zoom, written correspondence, personal meetings, etc.)
  • Ability to work well and contribute in a fast-paced team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple work streams, set priorities, meet deadlines, and work with a high degree of accuracy
  • Must be able and willing to occasionally work on weekends and during evening hours if needed
  • Interest in the MCAAD’s core mission to advance and expand the American Dream around the world
  • Personal attitude that includes being action-oriented, flexible, entrepreneurial and willing to adapt to changing situations while maintaining a good sense of humor.

To be successful in this role a candidate will need to be:

  • Well-organized and have great time management skills
  • Flexible with the start-up nature of MCAAD and willing to play different roles when necessary to move projects and programs forward
  • Be resourceful in executing on tasks and finding solutions when problems arise
  • Be a self-starter
  • Able to balance more than one project at a time while maintaining focus
  • Persistent and committed to diligent follow up
