    Description

    The Wellesley Hills Congregational Church, or “Hills Church,” is a large, multi-staff, suburban Christian church. For over 175 years the Hills Church has emphasized liturgy, exceptional music, social justice, and service to our community and the broader world. Our children and youth programs traditionally have been among the strongest in Metrowest Boston churches. We are looking to grow and expand our youth ministry (grades 6-12) with a dynamic, faithful,

    and engaging leader. The Director of Youth Ministry and Congregational Engagement will also be expected to support other programs in the church outside our youth program, such as coordinating volunteer engagement. The Hills Church is Open and Affirming to people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.

    Key Job Responsibilities

    • Plan and lead regular events and annual mission trips for Middle and High School youth.
    • Lead youth (grades 6-12) Sunday School and faith formation.
    • Recruit new families to the program as well as inspire youth and parent participation.
    • Work with our volunteer boards beyond youth ministry to develop thriving programs and
    • increase community and volunteer engagement.
    • Inspire justice-seeking ministry both inside and outside the church.
    • Manage social media for our youth programs.

    Ideal Skills and Experience

    • Educational skills and experience with multiple teaching modalities to appeal to different ages and learning styles.
    • People person who enjoys developing rapport with parents and students.
    • Experience with youth and community engagement, either inside or outside a church
    • context, such as in schools or non-profits.
    • Organizational and administrative skills and demonstrated success.
    • Passion for church vitality and growth.

    Details

    • Full time position with a salary range of $70-80,000, plus benefits.
    • Hours are flexible, but include Sundays and some evenings.
    • Reports to the Senior Minister.
