Reporting to the Director of Development and Communications, the Development and Marketing Associate focuses primarily on supporting the organization’s outreach and development efforts. This position works across departments, supporting data collection, analysis, content creation and fundraising. In addition, the Development and Marketing Associate supports key administrative needs of the organization. 



  • Manages Salesforce for the Development Team, including: maintaining contact information; documenting, recognizing, and processing all pledges and gifts; creating engagement plans, reports and dashboards to gauge fundraising performance against goals
  • Supports development efforts by drafting, designing, and editing presentations and related materials for meetings with funders
  • Conducts donor research and supports senior staff in preparing for meetings with funders
  • Coordinates event logistics, including One Family’s annual signature event and other donor receptions and meetings
  • Works with One Family’s Programs Team to ensure that all information needed for marketing and development efforts is available and accurate
  • Serves as a point of contact for donors as needed


Assists in the creation, production, and distribution of compelling content and collateral for use in One Family’s outreach and communications, including:

  • Annual Report and marketing materials (print and electronic)
  • Email marketing
  • Social media
  • Website content


  • Shared dedication to One Family’s mission and vision
  • Proficiency with Salesforce, Google Drive Suite, and Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Knowledge of Mail Chimp, Adobe Photoshop, and HTML
  • At least 2-3 years of relevant work experience, including experience in marketing, communications and/or social media, preferably in an education or non-profit setting
  • Ability to work independently and be flexible, setting priorities amidst multiple, and sometimes competing, demands
  • Detail orientation with a high standard for work quality
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Superior writing, proofreading, and copyediting skills
  • Excellent administration, organizational, calendar management, and event planning skills
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Valid driver’s license required (for occasional statewide travel)
