The National Abortion Federation (NAF), the leading pro-choice organization representing abortion providers and their patients, has an immediate full-time opening for the position of Policy Coordinator.

NAF is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to ensuring that abortion is safe, legal, and accessible. Our dynamic and innovative programs span a wide range of services designed to meet the unique needs of abortion providers and patients. NAF members include clinics, hospitals, and physicians’ offices who together care for approximately half the women who choose abortion in the U.S. and Canada each year. Our members also include public hospitals and both public and private clinics in Mexico City and private clinics in Colombia. NAF’s programs include: accredited continuing medical education; quality assurance and improvement; clinic security and law enforcement education; clinical, legal, and consumer publications; public education; and public policy advocacy.

The Policy Coordinator supports the General Counsel and Senior Policy Director, helping to ensure efficient office operations and using multi-tasking skills to provide administrative and program support for multiple departments, including legal and policy.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·        Support an active legal and advocacy team, including policy and logistical coordination;

·        Track legislative, regulatory, and litigation developments at the state level;

·        Develop, maintain, and distribute policy materials in coordination with the policy and

communications teams;

·        Implement action plans and outreach strategies;

·        Communicate with NAF members about legislative and legal issues in their states;

·        Establish and maintain relationships with other pro-choice organizations and coalitions;

·        Collaborate with NAF staff to identify and respond to trends affecting NAF members;

·        Provide administrative support, including coordinating document review, mailings, printing,

scanning, and scheduling for senior staff;

·        Organize and maintain documents and data in program and member files;

·        Maintain calendar, contacts, templates, and other documents for legal department, including

timelines and deliverables; and

·        Schedule interviews and new employee on boarding.


·        Commitment to abortion rights;

·        Minimum of 1-3 years of experience;

·        Knowledge of reproductive health care policy;

·        Excellent oral and written communication skills;

·        Outstanding analytical ability and strong organizational skills;

·        Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and to work collaboratively.
