The Shakespeare Theatre Company, located in Washington DC, seeks a Staff Accountant. This position will process all A/P and remote bank deposits, as well as reconcile monthly vendor statements. This position also provides general support to the overall Business Department such as monthly reconciliation of all corporate credit cards, annual processing of 1099s, ordering office supplies for the department, processing company cash receipts, and other duties as assigned. In addition, the Staff Accountant assists the Director of Administration and Accounting Manager in the annual financial audit. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business with one to three years of experience in accounting or a related field is required. Non-profit work experience is preferred. In addition, candidates must be proficient in Excel and will preferably have experience with both Tessitura and accounting software such as Microsoft Great Plains.
