The E-Collaborative for Civic Education (ECCE), a 501c3 nonprofit organization based in Bethesda, with a mission to leverage technology to promote democracy and human rights in Iran. ECCE has two sister flagship projects, Tavaana and TavaanaTech. Tavaana, is an e-learning institute for Iranian civil society, focusing on human rights education and capacity-building, paying special attention to the inclusion of minorities and other marginalized groups. The Project Manager will oversee deliverables, budgets, and reporting for these projects. Demonstrated project management skills and experience with State Department-funded projects are highly desirable.
Honesty, integrity, and a strong work ethic are musts.
Responsibilities include:
Program Management
-Maintain project records, including contracts,
-Oversee reporting to donor agencies, including drafting quarterly narrative reports, collecting M&E data from consultants, compiling project data, and tracking deliverable progress for all grants
-Act as a point of contact for the organization, including for grant donors, potential partners, and consultants
Project Development and Strategy
-Develop new project concepts and recommend project ideas with a strategic view on sustainability and innovation. Guide the project’s vision, maintaining a high-level view of the project and its moving pieces.
-Strategize and draft grant proposals in coordination with the Director
Admin/Finance
-Create consultant contracts and SOWs
-Contribute to admin/finance matters, including invoice allocation, budget oversight, and procurement/vetting processes alongside the finance department
-Maintain an archive of project files, ensuring that they are up to date and secure
-Update policy manuals and procedures as necessary alongside the finance team and the Director
-Hire and manage interns each season
-Manage a worldwide team of consultants alongside the Director
Qualifications:
-BA degree (MA preferred) in International Affairs, Regional Studies, Political Science, International Development, or a related discipline.
-4-7 years relevant experience in project management, development, and implementation, including financial management
-Demonstrated attention to detail
-Strong writing abilities and interpersonal skills
-Experience with the U.S. Department of State’s grant rules and regulations preferred, but not required
-Comfort with using technology. Knowledge of HTML, Photoshop, experience with a CMS, and/or experience with social media management highly desirable. Willingness to learn is a must.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Ability to work with highly sensitive information
-Authorized to work in the United States
-Interest in Iran and issues of civic education and civil society are highly desirable
-Persian and/or Arabic language fluency (including reading/writing) is a plus but not required
-A PMP certification is preferred, but not required
