Description

Title: Salesforce Consultant - Database Analyst and Developer

Location: Remote

Functional Manager: Director of Global Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL)

Reports to:  Vice President, Impact and Operations

Application Deadline: June 21th, 2024

Grassroot Soccer (GRS)  is an adolescent health organization that leverages the power of soccer to equip young people with the life-saving information, services, and mentorship they need to live healthier lives. Since 2002, GRS programs have reached 25 million young people in over 60 countries with evidence-based adolescent health programs. For more than 20 years, GRS has utilized Salesforce as a primary database to measure program reach and impact.  During that time, various monitoring and evaluation staff at GRS have built and modified the GRS Salesforce database on demand as the program expanded.  GRS is now seeking to assess the current database, and either modify or rebuild a database within Salesforce, to better capture new metrics and ways of measuring program impact as our model has evolved.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Salesforce Database Analyst and Developer to assess and restructure the GRS Salesforce database. The ideal candidate will have the technical expertise to simplify complex backend processes and make the system more accessible for all staff members.

Current Challenges:

  • Complex backend processes and report generation processes, redundant objects and data points
  • System is not user-friendly for non-technical program staff
  • Need to develop a single participant ID that we can track across programmes

Deliverables:

GRS Conduct a rapid assessment of the current database (including system analysis) and produce a report recommending a restructure that will accurately capture all key performance indicators (KPIs), allow for additional KPIs and metrics to be added in the future, and ideally link to historical data (stored in the current database). Design solutions on the Salesforce Platform that meet user requirements and fit GRS’ capacity and budget and develop a Salesforce Implementation roadmap. Specifically refer to the following sections for clarity of what needs to be done.

  • System Development:

  1. Audit the current database structure and map out links that exist and those that are missing;
  2. Identify redundant objects and where possible propose the merging or splitting of objects and advise on how to streamline data capturing;
  3. Streamline the backend architecture to facilitate future system enhancements without losing critical data linkages;
  4. Build a new M&E database that captures all current GRS indicators and flexible  enough to capture more in the future;
  5. Work closely with the functional departments to understand their needs and ensure the database supports their requirements; and
  6. Advise on developing user-friendly report templates to enable non-technical staff to generate accurate reports independently and consistently.

  • Data Visualization:
  1. Simplify backend links to allow other experts to create and maintain visualization dashboards (such as Tableau.)
  2. Ensure these dashboards provide actionable insights for further analytics.

Duration of the project

4 months (120 days) from contract signing

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience building and maintaining Salesforce databases
  • Salesforce Administrator Certification
  • Proficiency in Excel, data analysis, secondary research
  • Strong attention to detail, and superior organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to take ownership of projects from planning through execution
