All children should have child care in their early years that helps them grow up to fulfill their dreams. Our lawyers focus on the laws and policies in California that give all families affordable child care. The Child Care Law Center educates, advocates, and when necessary litigates, to make child care a civil right that equitably supports children, families and child care providers.

Our attorneys do high-level advocacy and litigation, and yet we are rooted in the community.  We advocate alongside child care providers, parents, advocates and legal aid attorneys to shape fairer, more effective laws and policies. Please check us out on our website or Facebook.

Are you passionate about kids, racial justice and creating social change? We have a unique opportunity to add an attorney to our team. The job will include protecting child care providers from housing discrimination, rolling out new child care eligibility rules for families, and advocating for children with disabilities.

This is a great job for an attorney with research and writing skills, a passion for kids and families, and a demonstrated commitment to achieving racial and gender justice.

  • Spanish-language proficiency is desirable

  • Experience or demonstrated interest in at least a couple of these practice areas: government benefits, land use/zoning, housing law, disability law, immigration law, racial justice and equity, or child welfare.
