Our Deworm the World Initiative has helped governments in Africa and Asia deliver over 1.4 billion childhood deworming treatments, improving health, education, and incomes. Dispensers for Safe Water provides sustained safe water access to over 4 million people in rural Africa, preventing childhood illness and deaths. 

We drive innovation: Our Accelerator builds the next generation of exceptional programs, taking an approach most similar to a venture capital model. We are ruthless in exiting programs which do not meet our criteria; those that advance deliver outsized impact for millions of people.

About the Talent/HR team

People are our most important asset and the talent team is critical to supporting the framework and environment to attract, retain and motivate a high-performing workforce. The talent team supports the organization’s People function as we continue to scale and grow our recruitment, onboarding, and performance management and feedback processes, refine our diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, and strengthen our culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Chief People Officer (CPO) to drive forward HR oversight across the employee lifecycle for Global team and US-based staff.
  • Build the culture and engagement events in the Washington, DC office.
  • Oversee benefits and manage relationship with benefits broker, including PEO vendors; lead annual open enrollment.
  • Manage current and future people-focused systems, including HRIS (BambooHR), Performance Management (Small Improvements), and Employee Navigator and ADP TotalSource (PEO).
  • Manage the performance review process and staff learning opportunities.
  • Contribute to the overall compensation philosophy/strategy and partner with management to implement compensation approaches; coordinate with the finance and payroll team as needed.
  • Manage the onboarding and offboarding processes with a focus on continuous improvement and employee experience.
  • Work with CPO on employee relations matters for US and Global-team staff members.
  • Lead organization-wide diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Manage the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of job applicants.
  • Manage legal and compliance-related HR requirements, ensuring compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of work experience; Bachelor’s Degree and HR (HRCI and/or SHRM) certification required; MA Degree a plus.
  • Experience managing HRIS and ATS systems.
  • Familiar working with PEO vendors.
  • Strong interpersonal communications and relationship building with employees across a range of levels in the organization.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to cultural differences, having worked with diverse contexts and levels.
  • Experience managing organizational culture during rapid growth.
  • Strong prioritization, organization, and project management skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with colleagues across teams, regions, and time zones.
  • Implements critical systems with high fidelity.
  • Builds and manages relationships with external stakeholders and vendors.
  • Strong alignment with Evidence Action values.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an international organization.
  • Experience helping scale HR systems and processes.
