Position Summary: Children’s Aid, established in 1853, is one of New York City’s leading child and family service organizations. Today Children’s Aid Early Childhood Department serves 1,000 low-income children ages 0-5 and their families in schools and community centers throughout Manhattan, Staten Island and the Bronx through a combination of Head Start and Early Head Start funding and child care subsidies. The Early Childhood Data Analyst is responsible for monitoring and supporting sites to achieve 100% program compliance with government contracts and other regulatory entities, particularly with regard to ERSEA. He/she will be responsible for supporting site-based staff on the use of the Early Childhood data management system. The Early Childhood Data Analyst will work to ensure accurate and timely reporting on all issues related to compliance, record keeping and relevant outcomes monitoring. The Early Childhood Data Analyst reports directly to the Director of Compliance and ERSEA.

Responsibilities: 

As a critical member of the Early Childhood central support team and under the supervision of the Director of Compliance & ERSEA, the Data Analyst works across all sites to ensure the following:

Continuous Quality Improvement & Outcomes

  • Monitor systems to track program compliance.
  • Act as a resource to all Early Childhood staff as it relates to the data management system and contract/regulatory compliance.
  • Manage the monthly Dashboard, including innovating new ways to improve efficiency and efficacy, respond to program priorities, and encourage compliance at the site level.
  • Conduct internal audits and collaborate with program staff to ensure effective corrective action to findings.
  • Communicate with internal partners on Continuous Quality Improvement requirements.

Program Design and Management

  • Monitor internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, developing and maintaining protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data.
  • Proactively analyze data, identify trends, and communicate areas for improvement in productivity.
  • Prepare annual PIR and all other compliance reporting requirements for donors, funding agencies, and others as required.
  • Assist in training on and auditing in ERSEA (Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment and Attendance) and ensuring the Division is following Head Start and Children’s Aid’s policies and procedures.

Professional Development

  • Collaborate with the Central Leadership Team to implement a wide range of diverse, relevant, and creative professional development opportunities for all staff; a particular emphasis on training new staff on respective data entry and compliance/outcomes monitoring responsibilities.
  • Identify areas of development and conduct group training and one on one coaching to improve outcomes.
  • Participate in offered trainings, workshops, in-service days, and/or all-staff conferences.

Qualifications: 

  • AA required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Business Administration, Public Administration, or other relevant degree
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly in data management systems and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and problem solve.
  • Strong analytic skills and written and verbal communication.
  • Well-organized with special attention to detail.
