OPPORTUNITY SUMMARY

ProjectArt, a leading non-profit in arts education seeks a Director of Development who will report to and work in close collaboration with the Executive Director. The Director of Development will spearhead the development of a comprehensive development strategy for the organization increasing the community's support for the company and raising sufficient funds to support the organization's operation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and implement a development strategy for the organization

Develop and execute the annual fundraising plan

Oversee ongoing development efforts, grants, and active donors

Work with the management team to identify funds needed, targets, and approaches

Work with senior leadership to assure all development goals are met

Manage the implementation of and work together with staff responsible for aspects of data entry and gift processing.

FUNDRAISING

Secure financial support from individuals, foundations, and corporations

Conduct research, prospecting, and application to multiple donor sources

Build a robust donor base

Create and execute a strategy for a large sustained base of annual individual donors

Develop and track proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising

Together with the Executive Director, develop and maintain key long-term relationships with donors and prospects

EXPERIENCE

BA (required), MA (a plus)

5-plus years of experience in development and proven success in development for a nonprofit

Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, communication, and relationship-building skills

Collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit

Excellent communication skills and keen attention to detail
