The Director of Operations ensures that the Boulder Housing Coalition’s programs run smoothly. The Director of Operations’ duties include legal compliance, new member onboarding, managing leases, recruitment and general customer service. 


The bulk of the Director of Operations’ responsibilities center around legal compliance with affordable housing rules and the associated income qualification of BHC residents. Legal compliance duties include: annual reporting to the City of Boulder, maintaining documentation on the income and assets of residents, providing fair housing trainings to the cooperatives, and providing management agreements presentations to the cooperatives. 


The Director of Operations assists potential new residents through the income qualification process. Once residents finish the process the Director of Operations onboards them in a final meeting before they move in. Customer service skills are important. The Director of Operations should be welcoming, happy to answer questions, confident, able to enforce rules, and responsive. 


At times, the cooperatives will need assistance in advertising openings. The Director of Operations will post openings on Facebook and Craigslist and will maintain an up-to-date openings list on the website.

  • Updating openings on BHC website
  • Legal compliance

  • Maintain member folders
  • Organize Income Qualifying paperwork, fill out TIC
  • Fair Housing Law trainings to all houses
  • Management Agreement presentations
  • New Member Orientation 
  • Customer Service
  • Answer resident questions and assist in problem solving issues as they arise
