To grow Change Machine’s impact through our online financial coaching platform and training and partnership success services, the organization seeks an exceptional sales professional to serve as our Manager of Business Development. The Manager of Business Development will be in charge of managing the Change Machine sales pipeline, from researching and implementing leads outreach activities, to developing and closing new sales opportunities to secure quarterly and annual revenue targets. Additionally, the Manager will provide live product demonstrations of Change Machine’s platform and will help prospective clients customize the scope of their access to the platform and suite of training and partnership success services to effectively enhance their delivery of financial coaching. 


An ideal candidate will have experience in sales pipeline management and will possess strong lead qualification, needs analysis, and closing skills. The Manager should be comfortable with aggressive revenue targets and a fast-paced work environment. Finally, exceptional candidates will have a passion for social enterprise and financial security building, and have an understanding of the nonprofit practitioner experience, especially in how financial coaching can enhance the mission and outcomes of traditional nonprofit services. 

 

Core Responsibilities


  • Market Analysis and Content Development
  • Support research of target markets to identify gatekeepers, opportunities for collaboration with national intermediaries, and develop mechanisms for tracking market penetration.
  • Support the Marketing and Communications team in developing sales personas, case studies, and content generation for web-based marketing activities.
  • Business Development
  • Research potential client leads from target social service sectors, including Workforce Development, Housing, Financial Institutions, Community Colleges, Child Savings Programs, Health Domestic Violence, Government, Financial Coaching, Re-entry, and Small Business Development.
  • Cultivate leads and turn them into sales prospects.
  • Develop and close sales opportunities to achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets.
  • Provide relevant, engaging product demonstrations to sales prospects, as well as key stakeholders and Change Machine partners.
  • Support prospects to identify a scope of product customization that best fits their service delivery and reporting needs.


  • Partnership Management
  • Build relationships with potential partners and sales prospects.
  • Research and support the cultivation of the Change Machine’s Strategic Partners, or financial security field leaders with specific topic or content expertise. 
  • Represent Change Machine at conferences and events.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • One to three years of sales experience is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to nonprofits is required. Experience working in direct services or in a nonprofit environment is highly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Powerpoint required; Experience in Salesforce, Asana helpful.
