Foundation Center is seeking a detailed-oriented quality assurance (QA) associate who will ensure that our data and products meet the highest possible standards while working in a multi-team environment.

POSITION: Quality Assurance Associate

REPORTING TO: Application Development Manager

LOCATION: NYC (downtown Manhattan)



The quality assurance (QA) associate is responsible for software quality assurance processes for Foundation Center’s software data products. These products include those that are developed internally and by external consultants. Software quality assurance encompasses testing of software functionality and data accuracy within software products. The role involves not only software testing and fix tracking, but also evolving and improving Foundation Center’s quality assurance processes across multiple projects and project teams. The QA associate will work closely with internal and, when applicable, external end users, as well as software developers and data management staff, to identify and help remedy defects in Foundation Center products. 


  • Enhance Foundation Center’s software quality assurance processes.
  • Investigate and integrate third-party systems that facilitate those processes.
  • Work with development teams to improve internal QA processes.
  • Write detailed QA scripts for Foundation Center products.
  • Help to design and review automated QA tests.
  • Stay abreast of developments in the software quality assurance field, including best practices, new QA tools, and new automation options.


BA or BS degree required; at least one year experience in software quality assurance; two years in data or software QA; familiarity with relational databases and web application development; some agile development familiarity is preferred. Very good attention to detail and organizational skills are an important part of the job, as are the ability to communicate across different disciplines within the organization; and the ability to work independently and to coordinate multiple simultaneous projects.
