ABOUT US

InterAction is an organization led by and for Young BIPOC under the age of 35. We were founded in 2015 by two womxn of color and former student activists on the heels of Black Lives Matter and national student protests. InterAction is a nimble, creative, and radical organization focused on amplifying and investing in the counter-narratives of Young BIPOC to affect change in our communities. We are excited to bring on new leadership to join our team and continue to build our impact within communities!

Our mission is to activate and advance Young Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) and their counter-narratives to build a more just, inclusive, and equitable world. We believe counter-narratives, the stories from people on the margins, are a critical tool for uprooting racism and systems of oppression. We have spent the last five years building an organization that lives by our values internally and externally. We hope that InterAction is a place in which you can flourish and use your skills to advance racial justice.

Since our founding in 2015, we have reached over 2,500 people through our programs locally and nationally. We offer workshops, resources, and long term programming all grounded in counter-narrative history or storytelling-- teaching young people about racial justice, liberation, community care, and identity development. Our newest program is the InterAction Institute, a fellowship program for Young Black, Indigenous, and People of Color to become the next generation fo racial justice thinkers, leaders and storytellers. Our resources include YPOC Rise!, an online toolkit to support the flourishing of young Black, Indigenous, POC and our Young Black & Asian Working Group, a Midwest collective for solidarity and coalition building. InterAction is a young-womxn-of-color-led organization founded and led predominantly by young Black, Indigenous, People of Color under the age of 35.
