Aggression Replacement Training is an evidenced-based strategy that teaches youth how to understand and replace aggression and anti-social behavior with positive alternatives. Training in Aggression Replacement will be provided. 

The group topics include Anger Control, Social Skills, and Moral Reasoning.

The A.R.T. Lead will coordinate groups; provide group facilitation; arrange for and attend staff training in A.R.T curriculum; maintain the school and community partnerships needed to ensure contract participation levels are met.

Primary Responsibility:

  • Coordinate and Facilitate in partnership 4 Aggression Replacement Training groups per year in SW, SE, and Central Seattle
  • Coordinate and Facilitate in partnership 2 Behavior Modification groups per year
  • Build ongoing community and school partnerships with other providers within our area
  • Build Cross-program relationships within SWYFS
  • Set up and conduct ART orientations at various locations
  • Schedule ART classes
  • Ensure control procedures for the distribution of gifts and incentive are strictly followed 
  • Purchase and monitor budget for group supplies, incentives, food, gift cards, etc
  • Maintain timely and accurate group files
  • Complete Quality Assurance reviews of ART files
  • Attend all applicable agency and community staff meetings
  • Send 2 videos per ART group to the ART consultant for review
  • Complete monthly billing accurately and timely
  • 100% contract compliance

Other responsibilities

  • Promptly respond to phone calls and other inquiries from the community (schools, other agencies, etc.) on behalf of the Counseling Center, including requests for counseling
  • Develop a professional development plan in consultation with supervisor and attend appropriate training
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients, families, co-workers and community resources
  • Resolve conflicts, directly, quickly, and appropriately
  • Discuss issues with tact and courtesy

  • 36 hours per week, flexible scheduling
  • $17 - $18 hourly; non-exempt

Level of Language Proficiency


  • BA preferred; Youth development experience
  • Aggression Replacement Training Certification within 3 months of hire (SWYFS provided)
  • Ability to work with diverse groups and cultures
  • Ability to work as a team and independently
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Must pass a Washington State Patrol Criminal Background Check
  • Valid WA State Driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Clear driving record with no more than two violations in the last three years
