Description Summary:  The Human Resources Associate responds to Human Resources inquiries and completes daily processing of employee event transactions related to all aspects of the employee life cycle from the employee recruitment process through the termination process. The Associate ensures that the transactions are processed in an efficient, accurate and timely manner. This includes maintaining and updating employee records, enrollment in benefits, and reward and recognition program administration.

·      Support the Director of Human Resources in the areas of recruitment, employee engagement, staff training and all other areas of the HR program

·      Assist the Director of Human Resources in carrying out various administrative human resources functions and procedures for all employees

·      Support all functions of the onboarding and orientation process including administering pre-employment background screens and conducting reference checks and participate in new employee orientations

·      Administer and enroll eligible employees in insurance and compensation programs and participate in benefits administration to include changes in reporting, and approving invoices for payment

·      Coordinate completion of human resources related functions, including performance evaluations, workers compensation claims, unemployment claims, timekeeping and maintaining personnel records

·      Support the offboarding process by assisting in the exit interview process

·      Act as liaison to the Staff Activity Committee; plan and carry out activities in consultation with Director and committee members

  • Assist with agency employee engagement and retention efforts

·      Plan and organize employee trainings

·      Participate in departmental and staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars

  • Monitor the HR concerns for our employees – handle those that you can handle and pass others to the Director as appropriate

·      Maintain agency organization charts and personnel directory

·      Provide administrative support to Senior Management Team as required

·      Perform other related duties as required and assigned


·      Three years of Generalist and /or support experience in a Human Resources Department

·      Ability to handle confidential and routine information with discretion

  • Strong Time Management skills and ability to juggle multiple projects/deadlines
  • Analytically minded – able to complete monthly reports with regards to turnover, promotions, cost per hire and other standard HR benefits reports
  • Bring creative approaches to HR and want to develop/mold something that is embraced.

·      Excellent written communication skills to assist in developing the employee web portal and newsletter

·      Excellent Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills

·      Experience with ADP Work Force Now or equivalent

·      Ability to build relationships and collaborate across all staff levels

·      Comfortable with public speaking and making presentations
