Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled fundraising professional who can help us carry out our important mission of eliminating bias, bigotry and racism. The Development Director will spearhead development efforts as The Diversity Center continues to grow.

 Responsibilities:

• Create and implement an overall development plan for the organization which identifies multiple funding sources, including foundation grants, corporate sponsorships, board giving, planned giving, and other revenue streams within the first ninety days

• Oversee the planning and execution of special fundraising events as specified in the fund development plan (November Annual Humanitarian Award Dinner/Celebration and the May Walk, Rock & Run) 

• Prepare and submit grant applications and all required reports

• Develop major gifts and planned giving programs under the leadership of the President & CEO and board finance committee

• Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors and board members 

• Develop and manage timelines for all fundraising activities 

• Identify and develop corporate, community and individual prospects for the organization’s fundraising priorities 

• Work closely with Marketing & Communications Director and School & Youth Department

• Oversee the administration of the DonorPerfect database and donor mailing list 

• Coordinate in-kind donations and make decisions regarding the issuing of receipts

Qualifications:

• A passion for the mission of The Diversity Center

• 5+ years of experience in nonprofit development

• BA (required)

• Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills

• Excellent verbal and written skills

• Thorough understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, DonorPerfect
