Collaborative Partnerships Director

Reports to:

Managing Director, Higher Expectations for Racine County

About You:

You are a professional with a commitment to equity, and an understanding of how data and stories can best inform decision-making. You have a high degree of comfort collaborating with others, working in ambiguity, the ability to work independently, and demonstrated experience building trust and relationships. Through either your personal or professional experiences, you have developed an understanding of challenges, opportunities, and needs that families have related to early childhood education, child care, and childhood resources. You have a connection and commitment to the Racine

Community and an understanding of the way that systems and local institutions impact the lives of children and their families.

Responsibilities & Outcomes:

1) Work with partners and community members to create a vision for our work in Early Childhood and lead the implementation of relevant strategies;

a) Build relationships with key partners and with community members, parents, and families, in the early childhood sector and identify appropriate partners and process necessary to move work forward around specific targets;

b) Facilitate the Kindergarten Readiness Network with support from the Early Learning Associate;

c) Work closely with Early Learning Associate to convene the Early Learning Resource Alignment Workgroup and facilitate discussion to increase partnerships, leverage alignment, and scale resources;

d) Collaborate with Data Director to establish appropriate performance measures, systems indicators, and continuous improvement practices within the early childhood space;

e) Lead strategies to increase use of Bright by Text throughout the community.

2) Lead work supporting partners who are adjacent to education; whose results impact the ability of students to succeed in their education and employment paths;

a) Housing

i) Steward partnerships with the City of Racine and other housing-focused stakeholders with a focus on housing’s impact on school attendance and overall student outcomes;

ii) With the City of Racine and key elementary schools, test strategies that reinforce housing stability and school attendance.

b) Internet Access: i) Facilitate alignment across partners focused on increasing broadband, technology, and wi-fi access in the community;

ii) Work with partners on technology access strategies; identify challenges and potential solutions to increase student access to technology.

3) Other duties as assigned, including the potential management of future team members.

  • Communication - Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Facilitation – Knowledge and demonstrated success in facilitating multidisciplinary or multi-organizational teams.
  • Professionalism – Demonstrated ability to build and maintain an effective system of communications and a positive image for the organization.
  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving – Ability to think strategically and help teams prioritize their work to meet ambitious goals, ability to address and overcome complex issues to achieve desired results.
  • Planning & Organizing – Excellent project management and organizational skills, ability to create processes and systems, manage details and work independently.
  • Focus on Equity – Committed to advancing personal and organizational understanding of disparity and equity in the Racine community and ability to act in strategic ways to address those issues, comfortable reflecting on and engaging others in difficult conversations and strategic actions to address inequities along lines of race and income, among others.
  • Adaptability – Serves as a champion of change and is able to provide tools to assist teams and community partners in accelerating the change management process necessary to implement and sustain their proposed improvements, and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment as the organization and its roles evolve over time.
  • Research - Creates new knowledge and understanding through the process of research and inquiry, ability to leverage expertise needed to better understand and address identified challenges.

Compensation:

Salary range: $75,000 - $80,000
