Description

The Actors Fund, a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment, seeks a Social Work Supervisor to be responsible for supervision, development and training of social work staff at The Dorothy Ross Friedman Residence. Supervisor will coordinate intake, orientation, case management, and clinical services, addressing the unique challenges associated with The Friedman. Supervisor will work collaboratively with Property Management and other partner agencies to ensure services are guided by best practices and the mission and goals of The Actors Fund.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Social Work Supervisor will coordinate intake process in conjunction with property management from applicant interview through admission, orientation, and assessment of service needs. This includes facilitating the roommate selection process with property management when vacancies occur. Supervisor will provide clinical supervision to social work staff at The Friedman, and will coordinate training and development of social work staff that addresses the needs of residents. Will facilitate group supervision with social workers from both housing sites, and assist social work staff in the identification and utilization of community based resources. Will collaborate with Activities & Volunteer Programs in developing psycho-educational and support groups for residents to enhance their independent functioning or help them adjust to changes in life circumstances. Supervisor will assist the Director in managing HRA and OTDA Supportive Housing contracts. Supervisor will also be responsible for a caseload of residents receiving HRA HASA services and low income working or disabled residents identified with having mental health and/or substance abuse issues. Will provide crisis intervention or other short-term counseling, including addressing disputes related to roommate conflicts. Supervisor will maintain confidential up-to-date records and charts for assigned caseload and submit written records in assigned time frames. In the absence of Director, supervisor assumes the responsibility for social services operations and personnel. 

 

REQUIREMENTS

·        Minimum: LCSW with 3 years of supervisory experience required

·        Experience in housing and support services

·        Knowledge of entitlements, seniors, HIV/AIDS, and mental health

·        Proficient in Microsoft Office

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·        Ability to interface effectively and efficiently with colleagues, and requires good decision making skills and the ability to identify and facilitate necessary programmatic change

·        Extremely organized and detailed oriented

·        Some evening hours for intake, events and community meeting required

·        Will be required to take LITC Compliance Certification course within 1st year
