    Description

    CADE (Center for Agricultural Development & Entrepreneurship) is seeking a creative, mission-driven Engagement Manager of Creative Media and Learning Content to lead our digital storytelling, brand outreach, and multimedia educational content creation efforts under the direction of the Director of Programs and Communications and in collaboration with CADE’s Program Team. This position bridges communications and program delivery translating CADE’s educational work into visually engaging, accessible multimedia formats that connect with farmers, food entrepreneurs, and partners. It will amplify the voices of CADE’s clients, increase the organization’s visibility across digital platforms, design the digital presentation of CADE’s educational content and help engage new clients, partners, and funders. This position is hybrid remote requiring some travel to farm and food businesses for gathering creative content; ideal candidates, therefore, will live in the Capital, Catskill, or Central region of New York.

    CADE (www.cadefarms.org) is a non-profit organization founded in 1991, whose mission is to increase the number and diversity of viable farm enterprises and related businesses across the supply chain in New York. Our goal is for farm and food businesses to compete and thrive, contributing to a sustainable regional food system and strong local economy. We provide free services for New York state farm and agribusinesses in the areas of business development, land access, marketing, and more. The CADE office is located in Oneonta, NY but works across New York state with staff residing across the state as well.

    An outline of the scope of work:

    Learning Content (45%)

    • Co-create engaging educational materials with program staff through various forms of media: static (graphics, photography, social media posts), video (reels to longer educational video production) and possibly audio (podcast).
    • Reimagine and redesign existing learning resources to make them more dynamic and accessible.
    • Work with staff to develop creative ways to teach farm and food business topics through digital storytelling.
    • Ensure all content supports CADE’s values of sustainability, inclusion, and collaboration.

    Creative Media (45%)

    • Digital Storytelling & Brand Voice
      • Interview and capture and share the stories of farmers, food entrepreneurs, and partners across media platforms.
      • Plan and produce multimedia campaigns that showcase CADE’s mission and impact.
      • Photograph, film, write and edit original content that brings CADE’s work to life.
    • Social Media & Online Presence
      • Manage CADE’s social media platforms with regular, strategic posting.
      • Grow online engagement and community through consistent and inclusive content.
      • Manage and maintain CADE’s website with current and vibrant educational and impact-driven content.
      • Work collaboratively with program staff to reach new farm and food business clients through targeted digital outreach and online visibility.

    Fundraising & Visibility (5%)

    • Collaborate with development staff to design communication materials that support fundraising goals, such as donor stories, campaign graphics, and impact reports.
    • Assist with email marketing (e.g., newsletters, fundraising appeals) via relevant platforms.
    • Support promotion of events, workshops, and grant opportunities to stakeholders and funders.

    Monitoring & Evaluation (5%)

    • Monitor and analyze online impacts.

    Qualifications

    • 3–5 years of experience in digital communications, multimedia production, marketing, or related field
    • Ideal candidates live in either Capital, Catskill, or Central region (see position summary)
    • Strong storytelling and copywriting skills with a demonstrated ability to create inclusive and compelling content
    • Experience managing social media for organizations or brands
    • Basic graphic design skills (Photoshop, InDesign, Canva or similar)
    • Working knowledge of website platforms (Wix), email management systems and CRM platforms (Hubspot preferred)
    • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, highly motivated, attentive to detail
    • Able to accomplish work independently as well as collaboratively
    • Excellent people and interpersonal skills
    • Highly discreet in managing client and funder communications and interactions
    • Adaptable to frequently changing client/organizational needs and preparedness to respond flexibly
    • Language such as Spanish a plus
    • Experience in agriculture or food systems a plus

    Compensation

    • Salary: Commensurate with experience ($51,250–$55,000/year range)
      • Benefits:Health and dental insurance for the employee as well as half coverage for domestic partners and/or dependents.
      • 3 weeks paid vacation, 12 paid holidays
      • Retirement fund with 3% employer contribution
      • $25 monthly stipend toward their personal mobile phone for work use
      • The Candidate will be reimbursed for travel mileage for off site meetings based on IRS standard rates.
