Temporary Full-Time Human Resources Specialist

New Alternatives for Children, Inc. (NAC) is a private, non-profit health care and social service agency in Midtown Manhattan that provides services to children with special medical needs and their families. To assist in achieving this mission, NAC is currently seeking a Temporary Full-Time Human Resources Specialist to join its Human Resources Department. We currently offer the option of flexible hours and remote work.

NAC’s Human Resources Department develops and delivers quality, customer-driven human resources programs and services to support the Agency’s mission. Core services and competencies include recruitment, employee relations, training and development, compensation and benefits, human resources information management, and regulatory compliance. What is unique about our HR Department is that we provide highly individualized services to employees.

Description of Responsibilities:

•   Provides support to all functional areas of the Human Resources Department.
• Conducts employee background checks for assigned programs.  
• · Assists in onboarding new employees for assigned programs.  
• Updates and maintains information in the Human Resource Information System (HRIS). Generates scheduled or requested reports to assist management.

Required Education and Experience:

• Requires a Bachelor’s Degree.   
• Prefer basic knowledge of Human Resources Management gained through prior completion of applicable courses or work experience.

Required Skills:

• Requires proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
