We are seeking a Lead Fabricator uses computer-assisted drafting (CAD/CAM Software) to develop parts, layouts and assemblies for museum exhibition elements, including but not limited to case, barriers, panels, pedestals, mounts, walls, scenic elements, and signage. Additionally,

this individual fabricates, assembles, installs, finishes, fits, adjusts, and repairs the above mentioned elements.


  • Prototypes, fabricates, and maintains dynamic, passive and interactive exhibition elements that enhance the visitor engagement.
  • Supports the planning, fabrication, installation of temporary and permanent exhibition.
  • Facilitates the production of a wide range of exhibit components, including cases, bases, props, interactives, wall elements, graphic supports, stanchions, signage, ect.
  • Works with exhibition designer to plan, source, produce prototypes, shop drawings, proposals, material schedules, production schedules, and installation schedules to support the development, build, installation, maintenance, and de-installation of exhibitions.
  • Creates exhibition maintenance reports and plans.
  • Trains and coordinates temporary exhibition staff, part-time help, and exhibition volunteers to aid in the production, installation, and maintenance of permanent and temporary exhibitions.
  • Operates equipment and machinery scissor lift, table saw, CNC, drill press, band saw and other power tools as needed.
  • Must be able to speak effectively before other team members to communicate design intent, progress, concepts, delays, and solutions.
  • Must be able to read blueprints, interpret and translate to physical structures.
  • Must have a minimum of four years’ experience or equivalent in exhibition fabrication.

Qualified Candidates must have the ability to create, read and interpret design and fabrication document. Maintain a working and current knowledge of all design software required for essential

duties. Maintain a current and working knowledge of all material data and safety requirement to

perform duties as assigned. Maintain yearly certification in all Equipment and PPE usage as required by Intrepid. Demonstrated track record of high ethical character

Ability to understand sensitive information and maintain confidentiality

Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels of the organization, from line

workers to senior management level. Strong critical thinking, complex problem solving skills

Highly organized and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Proficient computer knowledge, including word processing and database software
